THE WILLOWFEST AUSTRALIAN COUNTRY CRICKET CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS is an annual event held in the beautiful rural city of Mildura nestled on the banks of the majestic Murray River, in north west Victoria.
2009 marks Willowfest's 32nd year!

The Championships which have been running since 1977, are conducted between the 27th and 30th December. Cricket teams from all over Australia come to the vibrant holiday mecca of Mildura to enjoy the summer weather, play cricket on first class facilities and vie for the largest prizemoney purse offered for a Carnival of this type in Australia.

WORKERS JOIN WILLOWFEST

The Mildura Workingman’s Club has come on board to be the administrative headquarters for the upcoming Global Water Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships.

Willowfest President, Anthony Telfer made the announcement on December 19 2009 that The Mildura Working Man’s Club had offered their excellent venue not only as the administrative base for the Championships commencing on December 27, but it will be the venue for the Gala Presentation Dinner on December 30

UNIQUE CRICKET TEAM FOR WILLOWFEST 2009

A unique team has registered to play in the Globalwater Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships this year.

The Johnny Mullagh Aboriginal Cricket XI is going to compete in this year’s Championships. The team is made up of players from the South West Indigenous Cricket Association, which is made up of teams from Geelong, Ballarat, Warrnambool, Horsham, Heywood, Hamilton and Portland.

Hogg's back for Willowfest 2009!

Controversial Australian Cricket Legend Rodney Hogg has agreed to return for this year's Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships.

Hogg proved a big hit in his role as Ambassador for the Championships last year and his return should add to this years Championships, particularly after Hoggís recent stint to the United Kingdom as a cricket commentator for SBS during the recently completed Ashes Test Series. He has some great insights into how Australia managed to let the weakest English team ever win the Ashes.

Willowfest 2009 goes green with council support

Playing cricket on great turf wickets with lush green outfields is not reserved to just first class players.

The Willowfest Australian Cricket Club Championships gives the opportunity for country cricketers to play matches on first class ovals that would rival our first class venues.
